Project Engineer
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Project Engineer to join the Project.
In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
The Project Engineer will work with an integrated owner / contractor site team to manage small and medium size infrastructure projects for temporary facilities and the LNG Plant facility through
- development of designs, scopes, plans, schedules, Site Instructions, etc. with responsibility for follow-on engineering support of construction and commissioning
- knowledge and application of project processes and procedures and project / industry / Australian codes, standards and specifications
- liaison with engineering personnel at the POC (Perth Operating Centre), LOC (London Operating Centre), and other operating centers
- liaison with site Construction Engineers, ATSMs and other stakeholders (such as Contracts, Procurement, QA/QC, Commissioning)
- Support of commissioning and handover activities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical, Civil or Electrical / Instrument Engineering degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of engineering experience of which 5+ are field experience in support of construction
- Ability to build effective working relationships across a multi-functional and multi-cultural organization
- Experience with Australian and international codes and standards applicable to this project
- Experience working with an integrated (owner / contractor) team is preferred
- Understanding of and commitment to leading and implementing the IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture and safe work practices.
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
