Project Coordinator
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Project Coordinator to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
Job Description:
Project Coordinator for Miscellaneous Civils with all the normal responsibilities assigned to other Project Coordinators for the Infrastructure packages for the Gorgon Project, including:
- Reporting to Miscellaneous Civils Project Manager on earthworks, major in ground services and MOF works related to Civils.
- Provide technical support to the Pre-Contracts team during the bid period, including Scope of Work definition, response to technical queries and technical bid review.
- Coordinate with BWI Construction office, Local and Global Engineering offices for the timely delivery of design documentation and agreeing priorities/driving bulk deliveries to meet the needs of the Works.
- Lead and coordinate the timely response to Contractors technical queries.
- Lead and coordinate the timely issue of drawings, specifications and other information required by the Site to undertake the Works.
- Provide input to Company responses to Contractors formal correspondence.
- Liaise on regular basis with our site staff and Contractors staff to monitor and ensure that outstanding matters are addressed promptly.
- Prepare reports, strategy and project execution documents as necessary to ensure the proper progress of the Works.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Freight, Logistics, Quaratine Groups, Site and the Contractor where necessary to ensure a seamless delivery of "free-issue" items to the site.
- Coordinate with Project Controls to ensure project planning reflects the agreed Contractor schedule.
- Coordinate on regular basis with Project Managers and Project Coordinators who have responsibility for works adjacent to, interfacing with and dependent on the Miscellaneous Works Scope
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree, qualified or equivalent in a Civil Engineering position.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the Project Management of civil and/or building discipline projects.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the coordination and management of design delivery from multi-disciplined teams.
- Capable of preparing progress reports and strategy papers etc. for submission to Management.
- Evidence of developing close working relationships with Contractors to coordinate numerous short and long term milestones.
- Experience with post award contractual relationships.
- Ability to develop professional working relationships both within and outside of KJV.
- Experience and capability to handle, moderate, and manage resolution of serious technical issues.
- Tenacity and a self starter, able to work as part of a small team of people.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Post Graduate training in Project Management.
- Skilled in the preparation and interrogation of Project Schedules.
