Project Manager – General Utility Area
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Project Manager GUA to join the Project.
In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
- Manage all aspects of the Gorgon Downstream Offsites project portfolio for the GUA with the Owner and Contractor integrated team. You will be accountable for the project portfolio components and the business outcomes ensuring quality decisions are made, technical aspects of the project are sound and the project is executed with excellence.
- This position will manage the General Utilities EPCM activities and interfaces for the multibillion dollar Gorgon LNG Plant.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Process or Mechanical Engineering with experience in large scale EPC projects.
- Preferred candidate would have 10-15 years experience in Project Management, with significant Water / Waste Water / Power Projects exposure.
- Solid and demonstrable experience in delivering project through sound Project Management Principles, to cost and schedule expectations.
- Ability to work in an integrated team with EPCM contractor to manage work.
- Strong communication skills are required for interfaces with the EPCM contractor, and for presentations to Chevron and Joint Venture Partner management.
- Ability to challenge contractor norms, engages participation at all levels in the organization, and establish an IIF culture for the project.
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across multi-functional teams and multi-geographic locations.
- Experience delivering projects through EPCM/EPC contractors.
- Experience in managing, leading and communicating with Construction Contractor’s.
