Cost Engineer
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Cost Engineer (Infrastructure SPM Support Team) to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
- Report to the Cost Manager POC and will provide support to this SPM team on a day to day basis
- For specific contract packages that will be determined by the Cost Manager, and which may be re-assigned depending on work load, be familiar with the contract scope of works and cost baseline such that adverse trends and potential for cost savings can be recognised early.

Maintain the cost forecast dashboard and back up as defined in the cost procedures. Maintain the following information meeting reporting deadlines;
- Monthly VOWD
- Periodic VOWD
- Cashflow and Commitment Phasin
- Two Month Cash Call Forecasts, and maintain commitment by currency.
- Maintain a narrative including other charts and slides as may be required to explain variances to the baseline.
- Review PDN's, RFC's CAR's and Payment Applications for the relevant contract packages and recommend any changes as required by procedures.
- Guide the PM and SPM on the correct use of procedures relating to Cost, and refer to the Cost Manager any matters that require attention
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree / Tertiary Qualification
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with main frame cost systems.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- KBR project systems knowledge an advantage.
