Senior Business Operations Analyst

The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.

The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.

The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.

The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.

Vacancies currently exist for a Senior Business Operations Analyst to join the Project.

In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:

  • The Business Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Downstream Logistics Business Services team achieve best practice project logistics administration and operational performance through the analysis, reporting and systemization of business metrics, processes and procedures.
  • The Logistics Division is made up of five supply chain disciplines including Supply Base Management and Road Freight Management, International Logistics Services, Marine Services and Planning.
  • The support is in the form of monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Project milestone reporting at the department and project level. Financial analysis.
  • Additional tasks and reporting duties includes
  • Development and ongoing review of Logistics contracts forecast cost re-estimates.
  • Tracking and analysis of actual spend in relation to current contract forecasts.
  • Reporting and management of contract funding positions.
  • Co-ordination and compilation of Logistics Monthly Dashboard report.
  • Review and report manning forecast and models for quarterly review.
  • Adhoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • The role requires the leadership of a team of analysts with contract administration, accounting, finance, administration and procurement backgrounds who under the direct management of the Deputy Director of Logistics support the Logistics Division.
  • The Business Services team is responsible for ensuring departmental compliance in relation to the Management of Change process (MOC) as it relates to all operational variations with a financial and / or commercial impact including budget transfer, forecasts variance, asset acquisition essentially any deviation from the project base line.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the management of large resource related projects
  • Experience in leading a team of up to 5 people
  • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated progress towards a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar contract management/administration / operational performance management monitoring role.
  • A comprehensive understanding of project change management principles and practices
  • A comprehensive understanding of logistics operations business drivers
  • An understanding of cost control and cost forecast management practices
  • Advanced user levels in MS reporting tools
