Senior Project Manager
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Senior Project Manager to join the Project.
In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
This Senior Project Manager (SPM) position, reporting directly to the Logistics Director, will be responsible for delivering all those assets to the project in accordance with schedule. The timely mobilisation of the additional logistics assets are critical to achieving the Barrow Island construction schedule.
The Senior Project Manager will have a team of Project Managers and Project Engineers reporting to him/her who will manage in detail the implementation of each (or a number of) discrete element(s) of the overall scope. These PMs and PEs will be expected to deliver the assets – there will be no other personnel reporting to them, other than part time support from the Logistics and overall project organisation
The role will be required to provide daily and weekly status and forecast reporting to the project leadership team and facilitating the PMs and PEs to succeed. This will involve extensive stakeholder management within the KJVG project team (both on the mainland and Barrow Island), the Chevron Assurance team and contractors and port owners. Upon mobilisation, the SPM will be required to rapidly understand and start his/her team operating efficiently within:
- the project Management of Change and Contract Change procedures
- the project BWI environmental quarantine processes
- the Gorgon Logistics group and wider project organisation
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- 20 years project and/or construction management experience managing large teams and contractors and interfacing with clients and other key stakeholders to project success
- Some marine and/or logistics experience would be preferable but not essential
- Good communicator (written and oral)
