Joint Venture Senior Lawyer
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Joint Venture Senior Lawyer to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
Job Description:
- Working closely with KJV Business Management Team in relation to:
- All changes to the EPCM contract and changes to the contract terms
- All major changes to the Implementation Contracts and changes to the Implementation contract terms
- Changes to the standard forms of contracts
- Changes to the Incentive Scheme
- Assist with drafting letters and amendments.
- Negotiate and support agreements as required e.g. consultancies between third parties and KJV, leases and licences
- Review sufficiency of practices, procedures to ensure compliance with the EPCM Contract
- Review with the Compliance Director the compliance program, including the anti corruption program.
- Investigate breach of compliance allegations
- Review and advise on interpretation of EPCM contract and Implementation Contracts, Consultant Agreements and other vendor agreements as they relate to the EPCM Contract
- Identify issues that may impact the EPCM contract and provide advice.
- Provide legal advice to KJV on claims
- Drafting & presenting presentations and training on the EPCM Contract and topical issues.
- Provide reporting to the KJV Legal Committee
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- LLB
- Strong drafting & negotiation skills
- Engineering / Construction project experience
- Experience in contract / construction law and insurance
- Experience in Claims prevention & management
- Capable of working independently
