Senior Environmental Specialist
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
Job Description:
- Coordinate the development of the Construction phase Environmental Management System
- Provide environmental training and advice to the team involved in the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System
- Coordinate the preparation of technical documents required for procurement bid packages.
- Coordinate the review of vendor and subcontract submissions, where required.
- Provide input to other functional departments (commercial, procurement, construction, quality, safety) with respect to environmentally management systems.
- Participate in risk based workshops (HAZID/design etc).
- Coordinate the Environmental auditing program
- Co-ordinate the development of plans, procedures, risk registers, targets and objectives and monitoring programs
- Advise/mentor site based supervision to ensure environmental compliance
- Conduct inspections/audits on contractors/work packages.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification: Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Environmental Management Systems and at least 7 years of post-graduate environmental management experience
- Demonstrable experience with development and implementation of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Plans.
- Site based experience, contractor supervision and consultant management essential.
- Detailed knowledge and demonstrable experience in Western Australian/Commonwealth environmental legislation
- Detailed Knowledge of relevant Australian & International Codes and Standards
- Significant and demonstrated experience in liaising with other disciplines, client representatives, and contractors in an office and site situations.
- Demonstrable experience in the design, implementation, analysis and reporting associated with environmental management and monitoring programs
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration with other environmental professionals
- Relevant experience in external interfaces such as with major contractors and regulatory bodies
