SLC Recovery Inspector - Welding
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a SLC Recovery Inspector - Welding to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
- Routine surveillance of welding activities – maintain weld audit program.
- Inspection of works in progress to ensure compliance with project specified requirements.
- Ensure effective implementation of ITPs by the Contractor and Client attendance at Witness and Hold points.
- Regular review of quality records, radiographs & NDT Reports.
- Ensure timely mark-up of As-built drawings and MDR in accordance with approved MDR Index.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold internationally recognised welding inspection qualifications, (AS 1796 Certificate 10, CSWIP 3.2).
- Minimum 10 years hands on experience as Welding Inspector on major construction projects
- Experience in the fabrication of steel structures and spooling.
- Solid knowledge of international codes and standards related to fabrication and welding of steel structures.
- Good understanding of QA/QC requirements for final documentation on oil & gas related construction projects
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Proactive approach to resolving quality issues.
- Basic computing skills and working knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel.
- Formal safety training.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Previous experience of working on LNG projects.
- Mechanical QC installation inspection capabilities desirable.
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
