Senior Paint & Insulation Inspector
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for Senior Paint & Insulations Inspector to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
- Providing assistance and direction to Paint and Insulations Inspectors on BWI.
- Assist Contractor with implementing and maintaining effective quality control on all blasting, Painting & Insulation activities.
- Regularly inspect works in progress to ensure compliance with project specified requirements.
- Monitor activities of the Contractor’s Coating Inspectors to ensure effective implementation of ITP Witness/Hold points.
- Provide technical support to resolve any quality issues associated with blasting and painting & insulations.
- Provide regular reports on the performance of the contractor’s coating operations and personnel
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Paint and Insulation Inspector (including 3 years) as Senior on major construction projects.
- Experience in the blast preparation and painting of steel structures designed for marine environments - internationally recognised coating inspection qualifications (BGAS-CSWIP Level1,NACE Coating Inspection CIP Level 2&3, ACA recognised Coating Inspector.)
- Good understanding of QA/QC requirements for final documentation on oil & gas related construction projects.
- Hands on experience with site blasting, painting insulation, fireproofing activities.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Hands on experience with low temperature or cryogenic Insulation procedures.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Proactive approach to resolving quality and technical issues related to blasting, and paint operations insulation & fireproofing.
- Previous experience coating insulation & fireproofing.
- Basic computing skills and working knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel.
- Formal safety training.
- Previous experience of working on LNG Projects.
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
