HSEQ Deputy Industrial Hygienist
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a HESQ Deputy Industrial Hygienist to join the Project.

Job Description:
- The HESQ Deputy Industrial Hygienist (IH) is a key member of the Barrow Island HESQ function, reporting directly to the HESQ Industrial Hygienist. The HESQ Deputy Industrial Hygienist must possess industrial related hygiene skills to provide support to Client, Contractors and their subcontractors.
- The Deputy IH will perform a range of monitoring activities and provide IH advice to Contracts and Procurement functions and Field HESQ team on Barrow Island and associated Marine activities.
- The Deputy IH will perform a range of IH activities in a Class A nature reserve
- A key feature of the role is the ability to routinely deliver high performance results in a demanding work location and ensure that an effective industrial hygiene management programs are aligned between Company, Client and Contractor.

The Deputy IH must possess extensive experience and is technically competent (subject matter expert) in the following programs:
- Heat Stress
- Air-borne emission monitoring
- Hazard Awareness Training
- Risk Assessment
- IH Audit
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
- Senior level position with broad technical and HESQ skills with in-depth working knowledge of project construction operations
- Full member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists
- Technical competence in occupational safety, health, and environmental is preferable but not essential
- 10+ years broad-based IH experience preferred
- 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role is desirable
- Leadership by example: recognizes, develops and enhances the potential of the workforce in IH matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and persuasive
- Extensive organizational skill: possesses initiative to independently manage a diverse workload of changing priorities and ability to maintain continuity in times of organizational change
- Ability to assess and act on project resource needs
- Strong communication skills: capability to effectively interact with individuals of all levels-both internal and external to the company
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
