LNG Tanks Engineer (PRF2323)

The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.

The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.

The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.

Job Description:

The LNG Tank Engineer is required to support the construction group for design review, constructability, and installation of mechanical / civil and structural works for the Gorgon project at Barrow Island.

The LNG Tank Engineer will be part of Technical group responsible for Infrastructure works and follow-on into Permanent LNG Facility.

  • Report to Site Engineering Manager on day to day basis for all construction issues.
  • Consult with Assistant Technical Services Manager (ATSM) for any technical issue.
  • Responsible for design and assurance of installation of mechanical/civil and structural components for the assigned area.
  • Provide the technical support to the site contractors and resolve all related technical issues by liaising with ATSM
  • Inspect the site contractor’s work for safety, environmental, technical and quality compliance.
  • Prepare Technical Guidelines/ Work Instruction as required.
  • Liaise with other groups i.e. Safety, Logistics, Engineering Quality and Subcontract Administrator for day to day issue.
  • Responsible for his own and other site personal safety.
  • Providing support to pre-commissioning and commissioning as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical, Civil or Equivalent Engineering degree
  • On Site Construction experience with LNG and Condensate Tanks (> 10 years)
  • Experience in Australian & other International Codes and Standards applicable to this project.

This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
