Piping Engineer Marine Construction (PRF2061)
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Piping Engineer Marine Construction to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
Job Description:
- Provide technical support to dredging operations and other marine and piping related works as designated
- Review effectiveness and safety of marine construction work in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Verify compliance with construction documents, including safety standards, by monitoring project progress, onsite construction inspections, calculations and placements.
- Supervises location of survey marks for the project and monitors control of monuments, bench marks and temporary bench marks. Reports any disturbance of primary control monuments.
- Monitor Contractors in the quality control and final checkout of Contractors’ work.
- Assist Contract Administrator and provide technical support in Site Instructions and report of progress measurement.
- Review technical change proposals from Contractor
- Provides technical assistance for the final check out, turnover and commissioning of the facilities as required. Assists in securing the necessary client acceptance documentation for record.
- Liaison with Home Office Engineering in resolution of design problems and field changes.
- Ensure that all drawings and materials are available for work planned by Contractor
- Issue and follow Non Conformance Reports, Technical Queries and Project Deviation Notices as needed and close the same
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- B.S degree or equivalent
- Good command of English language both written and oral
- 6 years relevant experience on large marine projects.
- Knowledge of Industry practices
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
