Quarry Manager

The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.

The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.

The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.

The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.

Vacancies currently exist for a Quarry Manager to join the Project.

In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:

The Quarry Manager will work with an integrated owner / contractor site team to:

  • Promote the high standards of site safety and environmental conformance to meet all Company safety policies and procedures, including the safe operation of all processing and stockpiling equipment and personnel.
  • Maximise potential site resources and equipment to the benefit of the overall project demands and production and stockpiling capacities.
  • Ensure the processing of materials meet or exceed applicable Australian Standards and Company quality assurance specifications, with consistent supply to meet the construction program demands.
  • Liaise with supply contractors, construction contractors and company representatives to monitor consumption and future material requirements.
  • Take ownership of the day to day operations and report the daily contractor communications, performance and materials production, assist with the overall supply and forward planning for the project.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project and processed materials management.
  • 5 years of experience of which 3 are field experience in support of construction
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across a multi-functional and multi-cultural organization
  • Experience with Australian and international codes and standards applicable to this project
  • Experience working with an integrated (owner / contractor) team is preferred
  • Understanding of and commitment to leading and implementing the IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture and safe work practices

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Materials management of Crushing and Processing equipment.
  • Operational experience in construction, quarrying and mining applications.
  • The ability to promote the company safety and environmental policies, procedures and KPI targets

This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
