Project Controls Manager – Special Projects
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project, currently under construction, is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, an unincorporated joint venture between KBR, JGC Corporation, Hatch and Clough, is the Gorgon Project's downstream engineering, procurement and construction management contractor.
The downstream scope of work for the Project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing trains, LNG storage and load-out facilities including a jetty, utilities, a materials offloading facility, a domestic gas processing plant and a construction village.
The Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon is a dynamic global team of around 2,500 people in 17 locations in seven countries. As we move further into the construction phase, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team.
Vacancies currently exist for a Project Construction Manager – Special Projects to join the Project.
In order to be considered for these roles, we are looking for the following skills and expertise:
- Support leadership team in delivering and maintaining one team identity, project values, IIF, safety and quality performance, and schedule
- Lead site team’s efforts in delivering a range of minor projects / scopes of work outside of the “base scope” by way of ensuring that safety, quality, fiscal and schedule targets are met or exceeded.
- Liaise with all stakeholders, functions and service providers to ensure the timely availability of resources and deliverables in support of discreet project schedules
- Ensures all work is conducted safely, and in compliance with all necessary specifications, engineering documentation, processes and procedures
- Facilitate and engage as necessary with Senior Construction Managers in delivery of various scopes of work.
- Monitor the engineering, planning, contracts, construction and logistics processes, progress and productivity directly or through the Senior Construction Managers and ensure implementation of any necessary corrective actions in association with Construction Directorate.
- Identify strategic risks, support mitigation and pursue opportunities.
- Facilitate effective interface management and resolution of competing priorities with SCM’s and Contractors in delivering a range of “special projects”
Essential Skills and Opportunities:
- Must be able to operate independently and routinely communicate / liaise with leadership to regularly update status and progress and confirm direction.
- Experienced in all aspects of project management with a minimum of 10 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Able to work seamlessly in a multi functional, multi centre organization with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Able to solicit requisite resources and support in delivering scopes of work within established and agreed targets.
- Demonstrate good management skills, mentoring of technical and non-technical personnel
- Advanced level of knowledge of HSE, procurement, project controls, and work processes.
- Proven record of consistently Meeting Safety, Quality, Construction and Schedule goals.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Preparation of reports.
- Strong track record of project delivery.
- Previous exposure to IIF culture.
- Demonstrated ‘team player’ operator and attitude.
- Has the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve a common goal.
- Strong track record for delivering project requirements on time with zero safety incidents and accidents.
- Strong team player with the ability to inspire excellence and participate in a team to provide a successful completion
This role will be based at Barrow Island and offers a 20 day / 10 day rotation.
